SARATOGA SPRING, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team clinched the No. 2 seed and first-round bye in the upcoming Liberty Leagie Tournament with a 5-2 regular-season closing win over Ithaca at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center on Sunday.
- Skidmore, ranked 22nd nationally, finished the regular season 14-5 overall and 7-1 in the Liberty League.
- Ithaca finished third at 5-3 and is 10-7 overall.
- The Thoroughbreds swept doubles and then won four out of the six singles matches.
- In doubles, Harrison Gradin and Yuval Goodman won a 7-5 tiebreak over Fidler/Vaada. At second doubles, Nika Mori and Fletcher King eased past Lantzy/Crespo, 6-2.
- Kyle Lundberg and Ege Topbas got by Kisic/Lopez/Cardens, 6-4.
- Goodman, Topbas, Sadeghi, and Mori were the Skidmore winners.
- Topbas kept his win streak alive with a pair of tiebreak wins for the straight-set decision over Siddharth Vaada.
- At first singles, Goodman won 7-5, 6-3 over Gijs Fidler for his second win over him on the afternoon.
- Sadeghi swept the first set before a 6-3 win in the second against Carlos Hernandez for the win.
- At sixth singles, Mori got his second win of the day (6-2, 6-4) over Alex Mazza.
- Skidmore honored its two seniors: Kyle Lundberg, Nika Mori with a special Senior Day ceremony.

Skidmore is off until Saturday, when it will face the winner of the Ithaca vs. RIT first-round match for the right to play for the championship.
