POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y – The Skidmore College men's tennis team went 1-1 in its Saturday road trip at Vassar and Bard. The Thoroughbreds fell to Vassar, 6-1, before blanking the Raptors 4-0.
- Skidmore (13-5, 6-1 Liberty League) is currently second in Liberty League standings. The Thoroughbreds cannot finish first, and will either be second or third.

Match 1 – Vassar 6, Skidmore 1
- Doubles was decided after the first two matches. Ege Topbas and Kyle Lundberg fell to Leeo/Santos, in a spirited 7-5 match.
- Yuval Goodman and Harrison Gradin did send Skidmore into singles with momentum after a 7-3 tie breaking decision over Bauermeister/Kubiak at first doubles.
- Topbas, however, continued his historic singles winning streak with a straight-set (6-3, 6-1) win over Junchen Jia at fourth singles.
- Four of the other five finished in straight sets – all in favor of the hosts.
- At third singles, Fletcher King battled to a third set before dropping the extra session to Nolan Kubiak, (7-2).

Match 2 – Skidmore 4, Bard 0
- The Thoroughbreds dropped only one game in doubles and a combined four in singles across the three matches that were played. The other three never started.
- Harrison/Goodman and the team of Nika Mori and King both blanked their opponents in doubles.
- Then, Kyle Lundberg and Topbas got through their opponents by a 6-1 score.
- Lundberg and Topbas both also got 6-0, 6-0 singles wins to make it 3-0.
- Shortly after, Goodman closed out the victory for Skidmore with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Bard's Nicholas Oh.

UP NEXT
Skidmore rounds out the regular season with a potential semifinal preview on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Ithaca. The winner gets a first-round bye in next week's Liberty League Tournament.
