CORTLAND, NY – For the second time this season, senior
Caleb Lawson delivered the clutch winning goal as the Skidmore College men's lacrosse team rallied back from an early 4-0 deficit to take down No. 14 Cortland, 10-9, in comeback fashion on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Thoroughbreds (4-0) battled back by forcing 22 turnovers and limiting the Red Dragons to an inefficient 15-of-20 mark on clears while overcoming a 17-5 disadvantage in faceoffs. Skidmore's defense held Cortland (2-2) to just three second-half goals, while sophomore
Marc Gadbois recorded 10 saves to earn his sixth career victory in net.
The win marks Skidmore's second victory over a ranked opponent in as many seasons and the program's first-ever win over SUNY Cortland.
