POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's hockey team blanked SUNY Potsdam, 4-0, on the road on Saturday night to complete the regular season.
- Skidmore (14-9-2, 11-6-1 SUNYAC) finished tied for third in the conference with Cortland with 24 points, but own the tiebreak and will slide up to the third seed for the SUNYAC Tournament. Skidmore enters the postseason on a seven-game winning streak.
- Skidmore will host sixth-seeded Plattsburgh on Wednesday night for a SUNYAC Quarterfinal.
- Potsdam finishes 7-16-2 and 4-12-2. The Bears have been eliminated from postseason contention.
- The Thoroughbreds outscored Potsdam 11-0 in the season sweep.
- Four different players scored for the Thoroughbreds on Saturday night, and first-year Kyle Ozgun stopped 25 shots for his first collegiate shutout.
- Oscar Worob and Daniel Urban scored first-period goals. Worob connected on the power play from Dylan Shane and Coleman Jenkins at 5:03 on the power play. Urban scored his second of the year from Nick Troutwine and Ryan Waltman to double the lead with 5:54 remaining in the first.
- Baker potted his ninth goal of the year at 6:34 of the second period to make it 3-0. Ryan Stratton, Friday night's hero, and Jenkins assisted. Jenkins had six assists over the weekend.
- Alex Loguercio completed the scoring with his second of the year at 6:40 from Troutwine and Christian Day.
- Skidmore outshot the hosts 40-25. Lenny Perno had 36 saves for Potsdam.
- Both teams had five power plays. Skidmore scored once in the five chances.
