Thoroughbreds wallop Mustangs, 12-1

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Behind a Bryan Tang hat trick and multi-point nights from seven others, the Skidmore College men's hockey team clobbered Morrisville 12-1 on Friday night.
  • It was the most goals scored for the Thoroughbreds in a game in over 22 years since Dec. 10, 2003, when Skidmore scored 13 against Castleton.
  • Tang's hat trick is Skidmore's first of the year and first since last March.
  • Shane Baker had two goals and an assist, while Tyler Fogu led all players with a goal and three assists for four points.
  • Coleman Jenkins recorded a goal and two assists, while Nick Troutwine assisted on three goals.
  • Brandon Spaulding, Bryce Terry, and Dylan Shane each finished with a goal and an assist.
  • Mitchell Floccare picked up a pair of helpers.
  • Cooper Rice and Tyler Chenevert scored the remaining Thoroughbred tallies. It was Chenevert's first collegiate goal.
  • Tommy Aitken registered the win in goal for Skidmore with 20 saves including 10 in the third period.
  • Skidmore came out with a punch as it scored four times in a span of 3:44 in the early goings and scored once more before the period ended for a 5-0 lead.
  • The Thoroughbreds tallied two more early in the second before Morrisville got on the board to make it 7-1.
  • Terry's goal made it 8-1 before the middle period was over, and four more Skidmore goals in the third gave the 12-1 final.
  • Skidmore outshot the hosts 69-21 with a 103-29 advantage in attempted shots.
  • Skidmore finished 3-for-7 on the power play. Morrisville went 0-for-4.
  • Grant Linville made 47 saves in 51 minutes of relief in goal for the Mustangs.
  • Skidmore doubled up Morrisville, 46-23, in the faceoff circle. Oscar Worob went 20-4.
