SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's hockey team fell to nationally fourth-ranked Oswego State, 5-1, on Friday night.
- Skidmore (7-8-2, 4-5-1 SUNYAC) cut the deficit to 3-1 with an early third-period goal and soon after got a power play, but was unable to chip away further as the Lakers scored a pair in the final three minutes for the 5-1Â final.
- Daniel Urban was the goal scorer for Skidmore. It was the first collegiate tally for the freshman. Oscar Worob and Brandon Spaulding assisted.
- Connor Gatto scored twice for Oswego (12-2-1, 9-1). The Lakers have won seven in a row.
- Tommy Bannister and Brendan Gillmore both registered a goal and an assist.
- Ryan Burke scored the other goal for the visitors, while Adam Grenier and Brandon Cohen both collected a pair of assists.
- Tommy Aitken turned aside 29 shots for the Thoroughbreds. Michael Manzi had 18 saves for Oswego as the visitors finished with a 34-19 advantage in shots on goal.
- Oswego scored two in the first period before Burke's tally at 5:49 of the second period gave the guests a 3-0 lead through two.
- Urban connected at 3:46 to put the Thoroughbreds on the board. Later, right before a Skidmore penalty expired, Bannister scored the fourth Oswego goal before Gatto completed the scoring exactly a minute later.
