SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College volleyball team swept Johnson & Wales (25-19, 25-16, 25-17) and lost 3-1 to SUNY Geneseo (19-25, 27-25, 25-15, 25-19) on Saturday at the Williamson Sports Center to finish the 2025 Skidmore Classic with a 2-1 record.
- First-year Chloe Heitman was Skidmore's representative on the All-Tournament Team. She registered 30 kills and 24 digs with four blocks across three matches this weekend.

Match 1 – Skidmore 3, Johnson & Wales 0
- Skidmore hit .390 and rolled to a 3–0 non-conference win over JWU (Providence), 25–19, 25–16, 25–17. Madison Manning paced the Thoroughbreds with 10 kills on .667 hitting and three aces, while Chloe Heitman added a match-high 11 kills.
- The Thoroughbreds raced out early in the first, using a 5–0 surge on Katy O'Connell's serve to open a 9–2 cushion. JWU cut it to 16–12 before Manning halted the run with a kill and an ace, and Angie Mozrall finished the set with back-to-back kills.
- Set two swung after an early 5–1 JWU start; Maya Stolarz delivered consecutive kills to level it 9–9, and Heitman ignited a closing 14–6 push that included a Ferrigno service ace.
- Skidmore never trailed in the third. Manning served back-to-back aces to make it 5–1 and teamed with Chen and Heitman for three straight kills to close out the sweep at 25–17.
- Offensively, Skidmore posted 38 kills against just eight errors (77 swings). Manning (10-0-15) led the efficiency column, Heitman finished 11-3-24 (.333), and Jazlin Chen hit .500 with six kills. Stolarz chipped in six kills and a block assist.
- Setting duties were shared as Emma Ferrigno tallied 17 assists with two aces, and Catriona Hoelperl handed out 15 assists and an ace. The Thoroughbreds owned the service line, 7–3 in aces.
- Defensively, Athena Braverman and Marlowe McIntyre recorded six digs apiece; Skidmore totaled 27 digs and three team blocks.
- Nevaeh Arnold was the leader for JWU with 10 kills and a .333 hitting percentage.

Match 2 – Geneseo 3, Skidmore 1
- Skidmore took the opening set but could not hold off a late push from SUNY Geneseo in a 3-1 (19-25, 27-25, 25-15, 25-19) non-conference setback to close the tournament.
- The Knights fell in a lengthy five-set battle with JWU on court two right before their win over the Thoroughbreds.
- Stolarz powered the Thoroughbreds' offense with 10 kills on .333 hitting and added four block assists for 12.0 points.
- Heitman chipped in nine kills, 12 digs, and two blocks, while Natalie Pedersen added eight kills and 8.5 total points.
- Hoelperl and Ferrigno combined for 34 assists, with Hoelperl also recording three aces and 10 digs.
- Defensively, libero McIntyre anchored the back row with a match-high 20 digs.
- O'Connell was a factor at the net, tallying five blocks, one solo, two aces, and seven points.
- Skidmore's block stood strong, outpacing Geneseo 13-9 in total team blocks.
- Kathryn Barba paced the Knights with 12 kills and seven digs.
- Skidmore moves to 3-3 on the season, while Geneseo improves to 3-4.
