Thoroughbreds edged by Tigers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's tennis team suffered another tight 4-3 loss on Sunday afternoon at RIT.
  • The match was extremely tight with 2-of-3 doubles matches going to a tirebreak and three singles matches going to three sets.
  • The Tigers got the all-important doubles point with a tiebreaker win at No. 2 after winning at No. 3 6-3. RIT also won with a tiebreaker at No. 1.
  • RIT went up 2-0 with a victory at No. 3 singles before Adel Aissaoui got Skidmore on the board with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 over Weber.
  • The hosts moved within a point of clinching with another three-set win over Kyle Lundberg at No. 5.
  • RIT clinched it soon after with a three-set triumph for Tanimoto over Yuval Goodman in the No. 1 match.
  • Griffin Biernat (6-3, 6-3) and Nika Mori (6-3, 6-4) closed it out with Skidmore wins.
