Statesmen pull away in singles for tight win over No. 37 Skidmore

GENEVA, N.Y. – Hobart won 4-of-6 singles matches to upend the Skidmore College men's tennis team on Saturday afternoon, 4-3.
  • Skidmore, ranked 37th nationally, won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take the lead.
  • Yuval Goodman and Griffin Biernat beat Grosso/Fischer of Hobart 6-4.
  • Harrison Gradin and Kyle Lundberg defeated Linares/Steiner 6-3 in third doubles.
  • The hosts rallied with straight-set wins at No. 1, 2, and 3 singles.
  • Nika Mori put up a strong fight at No. 4, but fell in three sets.
  • Lundberg put the Thoroughbreds back on the board with a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 5
  • Adel Aissaoui also won for the Thoroughbreds in singles (6-1, 6-3).
  • Hobart has now defeated Skidmore two years in a row after Skidmore had won the previous 27.
