  • The Thoroughbreds jumped out with a four-run second inning and tacked on another in the third to hold a 5-0 advantage, but the Ephs rallied late, scoring in each of the final five innings — including a four-run eighth — to claim the victory.
  • Senior designated hitter Zachary Leiderman went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, while senior third baseman Trey Bourque added two hits, a walk, a stolen base, and an RBI.
  • Skidmore totaled nine hits but left 10 runners on base and was held scoreless over the final six frames.
  • On the mound, first-year Nick Palovich made it into the fifth inning before allowing his first hit. He allowed two runs in the fifth on three hits but still finished his strong outing with seven strikeouts and no walks.
  • Skidmore scored four times in the second on RBI singles from Holden Caney and Bourque and a two-run hit by Leiderman.
  • Tyler Holm made it 5-0 with a run-scoring single in the third.
  • J.H. Vaughan tossed two scoreless innings in relief, striking out three and allowing just one hit to earn the win for the visitors.
  • Lucas Asanovic contributed on both sides for Williams, driving in four runs on two hits, including a home run and a double. He also pitched a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts to seal the win. His three-run homer in the eighth made it 9-5.
  • Ben Swank also homered for the Ephs to tie the game at five in the seventh.
