#39 Thoroughbreds win third straight, 6-1, over Bates

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The 39th-ranked Skidmore College men's tennis team defeated visiting Bates College, 6-1, on Saturday morning.
  • Skidmore (6-4) has won three matches in a row now with back-to-back wins over NESCAC foes.
  • The Thoroughbreds grabbed the doubles point with a sweep.
  • Yuval Goodman and Griffin Biernat got the team off to a strong start with a 6-2 win at first doubles against Sardain/Kosyagin.
  • Both teams of Fletcher King/Nika Mori and Harrison Gradin/Kyle Lundberg claimed 7-5 victories to send the match into singles with Skidmore momentum.
  •  Goodman won his second match of the day at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1
  • Mori (6-3, 6-0) and Adel Aissaoui (6-2, 6-1) both cruised to straight-set singles victories.
  • Biernat (7-6[7-5], 6-3) and Lundberg (6-4, 7-6[7-4]) both faced some resistance but were able to win key tiebreakers to avoid third sets and each pick up their second wins of the day.
