KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Skidmore College softball team lost a pair of run-rule games on Thursday in the team's final day of competition at The Spring Games in Florida. The Thoroughbreds lost the morning game 8-0 to Otterbein before coming out on the wrong end of a 20-1 decision to St. Catherine in game two.
 
Otterbein 8, Skidmore 0 (5 inn.)

• Otterbein raced to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first and never looked back.
• The Cardinals then added single runs in each of the next four innings and completed the game in five innings with a wild pitch in the fifth.
• Rachel Monser hit a double for Skidmore in the top of the second accounting for one of the team's three hits and the only extra-base tally. Skidmore had runners at second-and-third in the second with one out, but was not able to push a run across.
• C Heller and M McVicker were both 2-for-3 with three RBI for Otterbein.
• E Lehman struck out five over three innings in the circle for the Cardinals.

 
St. Catherine 20, Skidmore 1 (5 inn.)

• St. Catherine scored four or more runs in four different innings on the way to the 20-run total.
• Skidmore scored its run in the third inning. Natalie Mayne singled with two outs and came around to score on a Jessica Nachamie single one batter later.
• Mayne was 2-for-2.
• Grace Swugart and Natalee Sigfrids drove in three runs apiece for St. Catherine.

• Skidmore (4-4) will return to play on Wednesday, March 19 on the road at Westfield State. The Thoroughbreds are scheduled to open at home on Saturday, March 22.
