SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Griffin Biernet and
Kyle Lundberg both registered two victories to lead the Skidmore College men's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over Ithaca College in a Liberty League match. The Thoroughbreds improve to 4-11 overall and 3-4 in the conference, while the Bombers are now 7-11 and 3-5.
- Skidmore won two of the three doubles matches to hold the advantage heading into singles.
- The No. 3 team of Adel Aissaoui and Kyle Lundberg put the Thoroughbreds up 1-0 with an 8-3 win.Â
- Griffin Biernet, a junior, and Louis Bourn, a freshman, doubled the margin with an 8-4 win at No. 2.
- Nika Mori made it 3-1 for Skidmore with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Vaada Siddharth at No. 2 singles.
- Lundberg, a sophomore, put the Thoroughbreds within one of the team win when he closed out the No. 5 match 6-1, 6-4.
- Freshman Yuval Goodman clinched the win with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Carlos Hernandez at No. 3.
- Fletcher King won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6 and Biernet posted a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 4.
- Bourn dropped his match at No. 1 in three sets.
- The win is the third straight against conference opponents.
