Thoroughbreds hold on for fifth straight win, 14-13, at RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team scored the first four goals of the fourth quarter and survived a late RIT surge for a 14-13 victory on the road on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Skidmore, winners of five in a row, improves to 9-7 overall and 6-3 in the Liberty League. The Thoroughbreds can finish as high as third.
  • RIT is 6-8 and 2-7. The Tigers will need a win in their last game and help to make the seven-team postseason tournament.
  • Trailing 11-10 entering the fourth, Skidmore rattled off four straight in a span of 3:32 to take a three-goal lead.
  • Neither team scored again until the hosts scored twice within 29 seconds to pull to within a goal in the final minute.
  • Tessa Snyder won the game's final draw control and Skidmore ran out the clock to preserve the win.
  • Elizabeth Walsh scored three out of Skidmore's four fourth-quarter goals and finished with a game-high five goals. She was a perfect 3-for-3 in free-position chances.
