HARTFORD, Conn. –
Ryan Connolly scored with 53 seconds remaining to break a 14-14 tie and the nationally 20
th-ranked Skidmore College men's lacrosse team improved to 6-0 with a one-goal win over Trinity College on Wednesday evening.
- Skidmore's sixth win to start the season is the program's best-ever start. It also set the program's win streak record with seven in a row dating back to the 2023 finale.
- The Thoroughbreds held a 14-11 lead until the hosts scored three times to tie it up with 1:24 remaining in regulation.
- Skidmore won the faceoff and Connolly picked up a rebound from a Nicolo Mazzocca shot and scored his second goal of the night to give the Thoroughbreds the late lead.
- The Thoroughbreds won the final faceoff on a violation and thanks in part to two Trinity penalties, were able to run out the clock to preserve the win.
- Charlie McFadden led all players with six points on three goals and three assists. Mazzocca also scored three times.
- Brian Gonsalves had two goals and three assists.
- Jimmy Gibbons, Charlie Kessler, Caleb Lawson, Tim Blue, and Dimitri Sfakiyanudis all scored once. Kessler also had an assist.
- Avery Stamps won his sixth game in goal for Skidmore with a 12-save performance.
- Jake Connors led Trinity with four goals. Jordan Opdahl had four saves.
- Trinity outshot Skidmore 52-29 with a 21-10 edge in faceoffs.
NEXT UP: Skidmore will play Birmingham-Southern College in a neutral-site contest at Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, North Carolina on Sunday, March 10.
