ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College baseball team got stellar pitching in posting a pair of shutouts over Bard College, 4-0 and 6-0, and sweeping a doubleheader from the Raptors in Liberty League play. The Thoroughbreds have now won four straight games and improve to 8-6 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Bard drops to 4-9 and 0-3.

Skidmore 4, Bard 0
- Freshman righthander Chase Siegel had nine strikeouts while allowing only three hits, no walks, and no runs in 7.0 innings and combined with Christian Giresi on the shutout. Giresi struck out two with two hits allowed in the final 2.0 innings.
- Bard's Aidan Risse gave up just one run and six hits with 12 strikeouts and three walks in 8.0 innings.
- Siegel, who did not allow the Raptors a base hit until the sixth inning, is now 2-0. Risse is 1-2.
- The Thoroughbreds scored once in the fifth inning and three times in the ninth.
- Skidmore's first run started with a leadoff walk by junior Ewen Donald, who then moved to second on a single by Quinn McDonald. Following a fielder's choice and a walk by Jaden Torrado that loaded the bases, Trey Bourque singled a 1-1 pitch to center to plate McDonald.
- Sophomore Nate Vandersea added a pair of insurance runs in the ninth with a double off reliever Jamie Fryer. A double down the third base line by Bourque scored Vandersea for the final margin.
- Bard got a base runner on in the ninth but left him on second, which gave the Raptors eight LOB in the game. Christian Giresi navigated through the final two innings to pick up the save for the Thoroughbreds.
- Vandersea, the shortstop, was 2 for 4 with a run and two RBI. Bourque, the catcher who batted second, was 2 for 5 with two runs batted in, and Zachary Leiderman, who hit third as the DH, was also 2 for 5.Â
- Jimmy Famularo had two of Bard's five hits.

Skidmore 6, Bard 0
- Skidmore starter Ethan Barnett allowed no runs and six hits with four strikeouts and no walks over 7.0 innings. The junior righthander is now 2-0.
- Cal Champeau struck out three in 2.0 innings to earn his first save of the season.
- After five scoreless innings, Skidmore broke out on top with a run in the sixth when a double steal led to a throwing error, allowing Andy Pelc to come in from third base.
- The Thoroughbreds doubled their lead in the next inning, again with the help of a stolen base. Jaden Torrado began the frame with a walk and he stole second. Zachary Leiderman drove him home with a one out double to right field.
- Bard threatened in their half of the seventh inning when Michael Kurlan doubled with one out but a ground out and a pop out to shortstop Nate Vandersea left him on third base.
- Four unearned runs in the ninth inning, which included three hits, three steals, and two Bard errors, pushed Skidmore's lead to six runs.
- The Raptors were aggressive in trying to get an early lead, but the Thoroughbreds' Eddie Galvao threw out Jimmy Famularo at home as he was trying to score from second base on a two out single.
- Skidmore loaded the bases in the third but did not score.
- Torrado, the leadoff hitter, was 2 for 4 with two runs, Leiderman had two hits and an RBI, and Vandersea went 2 for 3 with a run.
- Gavin Gonzalez was 3 for 4 for the Raptors, who saw starter Bryant Elliott allow just four hits and on unearned run with seven strikeouts and four walks in 6.0 innings. He is now 0-2.
