Thoroughbreds claim first win, 14-8, at Rowan

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team filled the win column with a 14-8 victory on the road at Rowan University on Tuesday afternoon.
 
  • The Thoroughbreds held a 9-2 lead at halftime and held off the Owls in the second half for the 14-8 victory.
  • It is the most goals Skidmore has scored in a game this year through five games.
  • Gabriella Modesti led the way with five goals and an assist for six points.
  • Jillian Lockwood scored three times.
  • Lily Schwartzman and Elizabeth Walsh both found he back of the net twice.
  • Lily Hudner had a goal and an assist. Charlotte Taylor scored the other Thoroughbred goal.
  • Liv Kazanjian made 14 saves in her first start in goal of the year.
  • On the defensive end, Lara Strunk caused two turnovers.
  • Maeve McKinley had eight draw controls and an assist.
  • Skidmore did not take a free position shot in the game. Rowan scored twice in nine chances.
  • For the hosts, Elaina Corson scored three times and goalie Mel Rodgers made seven saves.
NEXT UP: Skidmore returns home this weekend to host Hartwick College on Friday and Bard College Saturday for Senior Day.
