Skidmore defeats St. Lawrence, 63-38, as Bostick earns 100th career win

CANTON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team secured a commanding 63-38 win over St. Lawrence University on Saturday at Burkman Gymnasium, earning head coach David Bostick his 100th career coaching victory.
  • The Thoroughbreds are 4-3 after securing the weekend sweep to get off to a 2-0 start in the Liberty League. St. Lawrence drops to 6-2 and 1-2.
  • Skidmore broke through with a huge second quarter after it stayed tight throughout the opening 10 minutes. Claudia Schneider contributed key early baskets and finished with eight points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
  • The second quarter saw Skidmore dominate both ends of the court, outscoring the Saints 22-8. Bench players, led by Sophia Martinez with a team-high 12 points and five rebounds, played a significant role in building a 34-18 halftime lead.
  • St. Lawrence struggled against Skidmore's defensive pressure, shooting just 23.1 percent for the game and committing 24 turnovers.
  • Madison Meyer added nine points and four rebounds for the Thoroughbreds, while Sarah Chambers chipped in with eight points and five boards.
  • In the third quarter, Skidmore held St. Lawrence to 12 points, maintaining a steady lead with strong performances from Cassie Davidson, who contributed seven points, and Emmy Plage, who added seven points and six rebounds off the bench.
  • The Thoroughbreds closed out the game with an 18-8 fourth quarter, capped by a late 3-pointer from Andi Levitz. Levitz's triple, and one earlier from Meyer, were the only 3-pointers made by Skidmore on the afternoon.
  • St. Lawrence went just 2-for-30 (6.67 percent) from beyond the arc.
  • The Saints were led by Elizabeth Flynn, who finished with seven points and seven rebounds. The hosts had eight players commit at least two turnovers.
  • Skidmore dominated on the boards, turning 17 offensive rebounds into 30 second-chance points. The bench accounted for 38 of the team's 63 points.
  • The Thoroughbreds scored 17 points from the free-throw line.
  • Bostick's resume features four wins at Skidmore, nine at MCLA, 74 at Becker, and 13 at Fitchburg State.
