HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Skidmore College volleyball team dropped non-conference matches to Stockton and Stevens on Saturday at Stevens. Skidmore fell to Stockton in four sets (22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 14-25) before getting swept by host Stevens (21-25, 16-25, 15-25) to end the day.
Stockton 3, Skidmore 1
- Skidmore kept pace in the first set, but Stockton pulled ahead late to take it 25-22.
- Stockton used a 9-2 run to pull away in the second set.
- Skidmore rallied in the third set, narrowly edging Stockton 25-23 to stay in the match. It was tied at 23 when back-to-back kills from Madison Manning and Angie Mozrall extended the match.
- Stockton finished strongly in the fourth set, closing out the match with a 25-14 win.
- Madison Manning led Skidmore with nine kills on 27 attempts and added 10 digs.
- Natalie Pedersen contributed nine kills and was effective at the net with a pair of block assists.
- Maya Stolarz showcased efficiency, hitting .462 with six kills on 13 attempts without errors.
- Jazlin Chen recorded seven kills on 18 attempts for a .278 hitting percentage, along with four digs.
- Tiffany Flores had a team-high 20 assists with eight digs. Catriona Hoelperl also contributed eight digs and 15 assists. Athena Braverman tallied 14 digs.
- Skidmore totaled nine service aces, led by Ella Kretten with three, while Stockton had 11 aces.
- Nicole Palmer led Stockton with 19 kills and a .459 hitting percentage.
Stevens 3, Skidmore 0
- Mozrall led Skidmore with 11 kills and three blocks.
- Chen posted a .412 hitting percentage with eight kills, a block, and a pair of digs.
- Stolarz added seven digs and three blocks.
- Hoelperl registered an additional 26 assists, while Braverman led the defense with nine digs.
- Elle Maggio was the only Duck with double-digit kills, finishing with 10 along with 10 digs for a double-double.
- Skidmore scored three in a row to tie the first set at 21, but Stevens answered promptly with the final four points to take it 25-21.
- Stevens took control in the second set, fueled by an early 8-1 run.
- A highlight for Skidmore in the third set was a 6-1 stretch that trimmed an 11-point deficit to six. Stevens responded with a 5-1 run to end the set.

Skidmore will close the regular season Friday on the road at Plattsburgh. With the weekend's results, Skidmore clinched a Liberty League postseason spot in a tie for fourth place. Skidmore will be the No. 6 seed and will travel to Clarkson for a first-round game on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
