Thoroughbreds stumble at Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's basketball team dropped a 74-60 Liberty League road game to Ithaca College Saturday afternoon. The loss has the Thoroughbreds at 4-12 overall and 2-8 in league competition. The Bombers are 10-6 and 5-4.

  • The Bombers used a late first-half 11-0 run to break open a tight game, 40-24. Prince
  • Ithaca regained control in the second half, leading by as many as 22.
  • Coach Joe Burke: "We had some moments tonight that we can build on and I was proud the guys kept fighting. We just didn't close out positions and that really hurt us.We are going through it right now and that's the painful part of this process. The fact is we lost 62 of our 71 points per game from last year and are playing without our top two leading scorers for this year. We can make every excuse if we want but that won't translate into wins.  We have enough in that locker room, we just have to keep believing and keep getting better."
  • NEXT UP: Skidmore heads to Union College on Jan. 26 for a 7:30 p.m. game.
