Thoroughbreds win third straight, 19-4 over Plattsburgh

SARATOGA SPRINGS N.Y.— Skidmore College used a balanced offense with 16 players scoring goals in a 19-4 win over Plattsburgh State, Wednesday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds have won three straight to improve to 3-1. The Cardinals are 2-1.
  • Jon Bouvier, Cole Rogers, and Nicolo Mazzocca scored two goals each, while Charlie McFadden had a goal and three assists for a game-high four points.
  • JJ Jablonowski had a career-highs with four caused turnovers and six ground balls.
  • Luke Curtin won seven of nine faceoffs (,778).
  • Matthew McFadden, Curtin, and David Koffler scoed their first collegiate goals.
  • Ely Bruhns led Plattsburgh with a goal and an assist. John Eiseman contributed four ground balls.
  • Skidmore was in control the entire game, starting with a 4-0 first quarter lead on goals by Bouvier, Charlie McFadden, Mazzocca, and Jack Whalen. McFadden's goal was his team-leading 14th.
  • Bruhns opened the second quarter with Plattsburgh's first goal at 10:12. Skidmore would rattle off the next 10 goals to lead 14-1 after three quarters.
  • Defenseman Matthew McFadden started the run when he picked up a ground ball in his own end and went the length of the field and through the entire Cardinal team for his first career goal.
