BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Skidmore College hockey team completed the road weekend sweep with five goals in the third period on the way to a 5-2 comeback win over Babson on Saturday. The Thoroughbreds, ranked 13
th nationally, have not been beaten and sit at 9-0-2 overall and 5-0-1 for 16 points and sit alone in first place in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC).

- The Thoroughbreds scored four unanswered goals in the third period, two of them by Kaeden Patrick, to hand Babson its first conference loss. The Beavers are 6-5-2 and 5-1-1.
- Neither team scored over the first 34:44 of the game until Egan Schmitt cracked the scoreboard from Jimmy Fallon with 5:16 remaining in the middle period to put the hosts up 1-0.
- Patrick scored two in a row, both of them assisted by Stephen Perez, at 4:23 and 7:12 of the third to give Skidmore the lead. Patrick finished with three points on the two goals and a late assist.
- Danny Magnuson scored on the power play from Everett Wardle and Jacob Zwirecki before Connor Wood scored on an empty net for further insurance.
- Babson got a power play goal of its own with 1:16 remaining, before Skidmore scored once more for good measure, also on the power play. It was Wardle assisted by Patrick and Zach Lindewirth for Skidmore's fifth and final tally.
- Both teams went to the power play six times as 67 minutes in penalties were called overall. Forty-five of them came in an altercation towards the end of the first period. When it was over, Skidmore came out with a five-minute power play after two Babson players and one Skidmore skater were assessed major and game-misconduct penalties.
- Tate Brandon stood tall early for the Thoroughbreds in goal with 14 first period saves. He had 26 overall.
- Nate Mueller also had 26 saves, including 13 in the second, in the effort for Babson.
- The Thoroughbreds remain one of just three teams remaining in Division III without a loss along with #1 Plattsburgh and #5 St. Scholastica.
NEXT UP: Skidmore will look to end the first semester unblemished when it goes to #6 Geneseo next Friday, Dec. 8.
