SCHENECTADY, N.Y.— It all came together Saturday for the Skidmore College volleyball team. The Thoroughbreds dismissed Cazenovia 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-19) and came from behind to down SUNY Plattsburgh 3-2 (16-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 15-7) at the Union/Russell Sage Crosstown Challenge. Skidmore is 2-7, Cazenovia  4-7 and Plattsburgh 4-5.
- Skidmore was as close to full strength as it has been all season and it payed off with the two wins, setting the team up for Liberty League play that begins next weekend.
- In the Cazenovia win, Rudi Reyes had a team high nine kills and two blocks to go along with seven digs. Jessica Shulman and Chelsea Winegar each had three aces. Sophia Wittemyer had 10 digs, while Jessica Shulman registered 13 assists.
- Down 2-1 to Plattsburgh, the Thoroughbreds rallied for a 25-23 win in the fourth set and secured the win with a 15-7 advantage in the fifth. The team has played three five-set matches in the young season, winning its first against the Cardinals.
- Jo Blanco made her presence felt with a double/double of 12 kills and 14 digs. Jazlin Chen had 10 kills and Winegar had nine kills, two aces, a block and 10 digs. Wittemyer contributed a team-high 16 digs to go along with three aces. Audrey Powell added 20 assists and three blocks.
- NEXT UP: Skidmore opens Liberty League play Friday at Vassar College at 7 p.m. and Saturday at Union for a 2 p.m. match.
