Thoroughbreds strong in second half against #2 RIT

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's lacrosse team outscored second-ranked RIT in the second half on Saturday, 7-6, but a 14-0 start for the visitors gave RIT a 20-7 victory.
 
  • Jon Bouvier led the way for the Thoroughbreds with two goals and three assists to post a career-high five points.
  • Brian Gonsalves scored three goals and led all players with 10 shot attempts.
  • Charlie McFadden posted two goals and an assist.
  • Sixteen different players scored for RIT (14-1, 5-1 Liberty).
  • Marley Angus had a goal and four assists.
  • Spencer Bell had three goals and an assist
  • Luke Pilcher had two and two, while Quinn Commandant posted two goals and a helper.
  • Jack Fitzpatrick won 12-of-16 faceoffs. Overall, Skidmore (5-7, 0-6 Liberty) went 19-11 on draws.
  • RIT caused nine turnovers, led by Taylor Jensen, who had four.
  • Paul Heffernan caused four of the nine Thoroughbred caused turnovers on the afternoon.
  • After RIT's big opening half, Skidmore started the third quarter and went into the fourth riding a 7-1 run.
  • The Thoroughbreds got to within eight, 15-7, before RIT scored the final five goals of the game in the closing 10 minutes.
