AMSTERDAM, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team continued its hot start with a 7-6, 4-2 road sweep of Liberty League foe Union College. The final game of the series has been moved to a 10 a.m. Sunday start at Castle Diamond. The sweep was the first for the Thoroughbreds over the Dutchmen since 2008 and the first game win snaps a nine-game Union win streak. Skidmore is 14-2-1 overall, 4-1 in Liberty League play and 2-0 in the Liberty League East. Union is 7-8, 2-3, and 0-2.

GAME 1
- Skidmore ace Jack Clark won the battle of the "bandbox" field known as Shuttleworth Park to go 4-0. He went 6 2/3 allowing four runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and three walks. Christian Giresi earned his first save of the season with a five-out save.
- The Thoroughbreds scored three in the second inning to go up 3-1. Anthony Mollica had a two-run single to key the inning. Skidmore added two in the fifth and the two in the eight on a 2-run double from catcher Jackson Hornung.
- Hornung was 2-5 and has reached base in 24 straight games dating back to the 2021 season.
- Trey Bourque went 3-5 with an RBI. Max Mello was 2-5.

GAME 2
- Max Mello sent a two-out pitch well over the centerfield fence for a 3-run homer to highlight a four-run fourth. Bourque had an RBI single to start the scoring.
- Justin Posnik (2-1) navigated in and out of minor trouble for the complete game win. He allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks for second straight win.
- Mello finished 2-4. Brendan O'Neil was 3-4 and Will Snyder went 2-3 in addition to two putouts, three assists and a double play at shortstop.
- Hornung went 1-5, extending his on-base streak in the fifth inning to 25 games. He was ranked sixth nationally in batting at the start of the day with a .542 average.
- Skidmore entered the day ranked fourth nationally in batting average at .360. Nobody in the Liberty League is close, with Ithaca second at .328.
