Thoroughbreds hang tight with Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's lacrosse team lost an 11-8 battle on the road at Ithaca College on Saturday afternoon.
 
  • Skidmore (5-6, 0-4 Liberty) scored three of the game's final four goals, but ran out of time in the fourth.
  • Jon Bouvier, Brandon Reilly, and Alex Carpenter all scored twice for the Thoroughbreds.
  • Charlie McFadden and Jimmy Gibbons netted one goal apiece.
  • Charlie Kessler picked up Skidmore's lone assist.
  • Collin Kuester turned aside 12 shots.
  • Ithaca (10-3, 3-2 Liberty) was led offensively by John Sramac with five goals.
  • Jake Erickson scored four for the Bombers and added two assists to lead all players with six points.
  • Ryan Laforty posted 15 saves in goal for Ithaca.
  • Faceoffs were split evenly, 12 apiece. Luke Curtin won 9-of-20, while Jack Fitzpatrick was 3-of-4.
  • Skidmore outshot Ithaca, 42-38. Shots on goal were even at 23.
  • Erickson's goal for Ithaca with seven seconds remaining in the first gave the Bombers a 4-3 lead.
  • Ithaca expanded its lead with a 4-2 second quarter.
  • The low-scoring second half was played even at three goals apiece.

  • Skidmore will go to Union on Wednesday, April 20. The Thoroughbreds will close their home slate against RIT on Saturday, April 23.
