Thoroughbreds fall to Trinity in non-league contest

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team fell to visiting Trinity College, 16-3, on Thursday evening.
 
  • Lily Ives and Samantha Booma both scored three times for the Bantams. Ives also had an assist. Ellie Kirkpatrick posted two goals and two assists. Emma Alpaugh had a game-high six caused turnovers.
  • Liv Kazanjian had 18 saves for Skidmore (0-2) in three quarters of work in goal, including 13 in the first half alone. Bella Bruno, Lara Strunk, and Jillian Lockwood scored the Thoroughbred goals. Bruno also had an assist.
  • Shots finished 40-15 for Trinity (2-0).
  • Skidmore was successful in 16-of-17 clearance attempts. Thoroughbreds held narrow 11-10 draw control advantage.
  • Bantams led 5-0 at the end of the first quarter.
  • Lockwood got Skidmore on the board early in the second quarter from Bruno.
  • Strunk scored in the final minute of the half.
  • Trinity added four more in the third period.
  • Bantams scored twice with a player advantage.
  • The Thoroughbreds will travel to Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday, March 12 with a new start time of 11 a.m.
