Thoroughbreds pull away from Kangaroos for 5-1 win

CANTON, N.Y.—The Skidmore College hockey team broke open a 1-1 game with four straight goals in a 5-1 nonleague win Friday night at SUNY Canton. The Thoroughbreds have won their last three for a 3-1 record, while the Roos drop to 1-2.
  • Five different players scored for Skidmore.
  • The teams traded goals in a 1-1 first period. Everett Wardle scored the game's first goal at 13:39 of the first from Kaeden Patrick and Zach Lindewirth. Canton tied it at 13:52, but it would be all Skidmore after that.
  • The Thoroughbreds added three in the second. Lindewirth picked-up a power-play goal at 5:14 from Devon Mussio and Wardle at 5:14. Zach Frisk made it 3-1 from Oscar Worob and Sam Saccone at 8:20. Patrick closed the period with a goal from Wardle and Will Dow-Kenny at 13:01.
  • Jaden York upped the score to 5-1 from Thomas Finck and Freddie Ilias at 11:16.
  • Skidmore outshot Canton 30-25. Blaine Moore recorded 24 saves for the win.
