SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Unbeaten Middlebury College improved to 11-0 with a straight-set win (25-16, 25-14, 25-20) over the Skidmore College volleyball team on Tuesday evening.

The Thoroughbreds' bid for three straight wins came up short as they drop to 6-8.

Zoe Beals had nine kills to lead Skidmore.
Jo Blanco finished with six, while
Grace Aronson had five. Aronson also had a pair of solo blocks.
Elizabeth Miller had 15 digs.
Jessica Shulman and
Frida Anguiano each had eight digs.

Maggie Wise had 11 kills, while Corley Doyle had nine and Jane Nelson had eight for Middlebury. Nelson also had a solo block and two assisted blocks. Lucy Ambach was a part of three assisted blocks while Kelly Ferrero finished with two. As a team, The Panthers were 43-for-102 with 10 errors for an attack percentage of .324.

Skidmore showed life in the third set and used a 5-1 run to get within two points, but Middlebury pulled away with a 5-1 run of their own.

Next up for the Thoroughbreds is the Skidmore Classic over the weekend. Skidmore is scheduled to face MCLA on Friday, Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. Then, the Thoroughbreds have New Jersey City University on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. followed by Russell Sage at 1:30 p.m.
