TROY, N.Y.— Rensselaer scored the game's first eight goals on the way to a 14-5 Liberty League men's lacrosse win over Skidmore College Saturday afternoon at ECAV Stadium.

The Thoroughbreds are 1-3 overall and 0-3 Liberty League. The Engineers are 1-0 and 1-0.

RPI broke open a 2-0 game with six unanswered second quarter goals. The second half was tighter with the Engineers holding a 6-5 scoring edge for the 14-5 final.

Gregory Ross had two goals for Skidmore.

Ryan Madalone had solo goals.
Ryan Flynn had four caused turnovers.

Christopher Downey (6) and
Avery Stamps (3) combined for nine saves in goal for the Thoroughbreds.
