SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team won its first game of the season, 13-3 over Castleton University Tuesday evening at Castle Diamond.

The Thoroughbreds scored 13 runs on 10 hits and seven walks to improve to 1-2. The Spartans are 0-3.

Skidmore took a 3-0 lead in the first and added seven more in the fifth on the way to the 13-3 win.

Brendan O'Neill went 3-3 off the bench with two runs and a two-run double.
Danny Melillo was 1-3 with two runs and a two-run double.
Shaw Pedemonti added a pinch-hit two-run single in the seventh.Â
Jake Hardy was 1-3 with a double.

Skidmore used seven pitchers in a "staff" game. Starter
Justin Posnik was awarded the win. He allowed one unearned run in three innings on one hit and three strikeouts.

The Thoroughbreds travel to RIT for a non-league doubleheader on March 28 at 1 p.m.
