BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Skidmore College men's hockey team lost on the road to nationally eighth-ranked Babson on Saturday, 4-2.

Everett Wardle scored both goals for the Thoroughbreds and is now tied for the team lead with
Kaeden Patrick with four goals through six games. Skidmore drops to 2-3-1 and 1-2-1 in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC). Babson bounced back from Friday's tie with Castleton to improve to 4-1-2 and 3-1-2.

Matt Wiesner had a goal and an assist for the Beavers as four different players scored and seven had assists. Wiesner opened the scoring at the 10:54 mark from Ryan Campbell. Wardle tied it just before the 11-minute mark of the second period on an unassisted goal.

Babson scored with 2:09 left to re-gain the lead. Paul Boutoussov got the goal from Wyatt George and Wiesner. Then, Babson built a 4-1 lead with a pair of third-period goals from Ryan Black and Matt Cormier. Mike Egan, Thomas Kramer, Trvor Marcinick, and Rory Casey all collected assists.

Wardle scored from
Ethan Heidepriem with 1:42 left to complete the scoring. Skidmore did not commit a penalty and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Shots finished 27-26 for Babson. Nolan Hildebrand picked up the win for the hosts by making eight saves per period and 24 total.
Tate Brandon turned in a 23-save performance for the Thoroughbreds.

Skidmore will play Chatham to open the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. and will play either Connecticut College or SUNY Brockport on Sunday, Nov. 28.
