SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's volleyball team lost a four-set match (25-14, 25-5, 19-25, 25-12) to Clarkson University on Saturday.

With the victory, the Golden Knights finish at 5-2 in the Liberty League to earn the third seed. They will play second-seeded Ithaca College in the semifinals. RIT will host the final four on Nov. 5 and 6. St. Lawrence earned the fourth seed.

Chelsea Winegar had six kills, an assist, and five digs to lead the Thoroughbreds.
Grace Aronson,
Carolyn Scott, and
Jo Blanco all finished with five kills.
Noa Berger had 11 assists and five digs, while
Tiffany Flores picked up six assists and three digs and
Elizabeth Miller tallied 17 digs and four assists.
Ella Harris had a match-high five blocks, one solo. Blanco had three blocks, while
Sophie Sacco and Aronson had two apiece.

Kristin Werdine had 18 kills for Clarkson (16-8, 5-2 Liberty). She had just three errors on 31 attempts for a .484 hitting percentage. The team finished with a .259 percentage for the match, including a .481 mark in the first set. Allyson Treichel tallied nine kills and a solo block, Gillian Kurtic finished with seven kills, four digs, four blocks including two solo, and two of Clarkson's 12 service aces. Emma Baxter had 19 digs and Alexandra Bergantz finished with 13, while Isabelle Crow had 40 assists.

Clarkson won the first two sets with relative ease before Skidmore put up a fight by winning the third set. Down by two, the Thoroughbreds rolled off a 12-1 run to reach set point with back-to-back solid serving streaks from Flores and Winegar. The Golden Knights took control back in the fourth set to clinch the win.

Skidmore finishes Liberty League play with a 3-4 record to finish in fifth position. Skidmore will close the season with three matches at the Skidmore Invitational Oct. 29 and 30. Opponents will be Potsdam, Oswego State, and New Paltz. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
