A talented group of 10 athletes comprise the Skidmore College women's lacrosse Class of 2020.
Amanda Cagnassola is a business management major and a two-time captain from Summit, N.J. In her Skidmore career, Amanda started all 58 games in which she played. As a low defender, she scooped up 56 ground balls, caused 38 turnovers and grabbed 24 draws. Often, she was asked to mark our opponent's best attacker or play the most difficult spot in our zone defense. No matter the task, Amanda was up for the challenge and as a junior she was honored for her efforts as an honorable mention All-Liberty League Player. Next year Amanda is hoping to be in New York City working in the entertainment industry.
Mac Dill is an environment science major and art minor, from Glen Rock, N.J. A defensive midfielder, Mac was injured early in her career and through true grit and determination she earned a starting spot her senior year. Most players in Mac's shoes would have hung them up, but not Mac. She truly was an inspiration to all of her teammates and coaches. Once healthy, she was our goto in transition with her tremendous speed and played the difficult position of a rover in our zone defense. After graduation, Mac will be pursuing an environmental consulting / engineering position in the New York City area.
Nicki Eckert is a biology major and Spanish minor from Glen Ridge, N.J. In the classroom, Nicki achieved Thoroughbred Society Honors (3.67+ GPA) nearly every semester. On the field, she always did whatever it took to make her teammates better, including playing lefty in cage when we were about to see a lefthanded goalkeeper. Totally selfless, Nicki embodies everything you would ever want in a teammate and was beloved by all. Following graduation Nicki will be headed to the New York Chiropractic College to pursue her doctorate in Chiropractic Care.
Vivian Foley, is a business management major with a minor in economics from Concord, Mass. Throughout her career, Vivian was our spark and as a senior she was on her way to a career year. She prided herself on being one of the team's fastest players and her positive attitude was infectious. Viv brought grit and pushed herself and her teammates to be better every day. Following graduation, she plans to be in Boston looking to pursue a career in marketing or real estate.
Kathleen Hanna, from Westwood, N.J. is an anthropology major and a religious studies minor. Kathleen, truly did it all for the Thoroughbreds. She played in 58 career games and was a force all over the field. She scooped up 39 ground balls, caused 28 turnovers and grabbed 104 draw controls. Kathleen often just out powered her opponents and was a constant source of energy and inspiration for her teammates. Her two favorite days of the week were PRE-GAME and GAME DAY! Next year, she plans to be in the New York City area.
Caroline Kenlon is a business management major and a music minor from Manhasset, N.Y. As a 3-year starter, Caroline saved 336 shots, caused 19 turnovers and scooped up an impressive 164 ground balls, all while achieving a .434 career save percent average. As a sophomore, Caroline was an Honorable Mention All Liberty League Player. On the field, Caroline anchored the defense and off the field she led the team in song and tik tok dance moves. Future plans are up in the air, but she hopes to be living and working in New York.
Amanda Orvis is an education major and Spanish minor from Fairfield, Conn. On the field, as an attacker, Amanda was one thing all four years - consistent. She orchestrated all of our offensive sets, worked her way into being one of the best dodgers on the team and when we needed a goal, the team could look to the Orvis Train. Always working hard in the ride, Amanda led by example. In her career, she played in 57 games, found the back of the net 56 times and assisted her teammates 26 times. Following graduation Amanda will be an elementary co-teacher at New Canaan Country Day School and getting her Masters at Fairfield University.
Abby Sanford is a business management major and a health and human physiological science minor from Avon, Conn. As an attacker for the Thoroughbreds Abby always found time to put in extra work through individual sessions outside of practice and as a result knew our offense inside and out. She set up our offense from X and in her senior campaign, she became a go to attacker working the middle and keeping the defense on their toes. Next year, Abby will be working in human resources and commercial sales for Sanford & Hawley, Inc.
Lilla Seymour is captain from Wilton, Conn. She is a business management major and international affairs minor. Lilla was our secret weapon. As a true lefty, she often caught teams off guard rolling the crease or coming off a pick with her left hand up. With her competitive spirit and desire to win, it was Lilla's drive and tenacious attitude that really paced the Thoroughbreds. After graduation, Lilla will be working at Vineyard Vines as part of the leadership development group.
Louisa Vincent is a biology major from Brookline, Mass. Lou was always working hard. Whether it be in the classroom or on the field she was strived to be the best. A true leader in every facet of life, we always trusted Lou and she took every task in stride! As the fastest Thoroughbred, Lou did it all in the midfield. She earned a starting spot as a senior on our first midfield line and made the most out of her time on the field. Next year Louisa doesn't have any plans as of yet, but whatever she decided she will do it well and with a smile.
