FT. MYERS, Fla.—The Skidmore College baseball team split with Alfred State Friday in Florida.
The Thoroughbreds are 5-4 and will close out the short season on Saturday against Lakeland University. Alfred State is 5-9.
GAME 1
Jay Gamboa (2-1) earned the complete game shutout. He gave up six hits, with eight strikeouts and two walks.
Sam Browning was 2-3 with a double.
Jackson Hornung was 2-3 with an RBI and
Anthony Mollica was 2-3 with an RBI and three runs.
GAME 2
Alfred State scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to earn the split.
Andrew Knight had a two-run double on the way to a 1-2 day with a walk.
Spencer Meyer (2-1) was tagged with the loss, allowing four runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
