Skoric’s 20/20 leads Skidmore past Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Greg Skoric had a career game with 21 points and 20 rebounds in only 24 minutes to lead the Skidmore College men's basketball team to an 84-41 Liberty League road win over Bard College.
 
The Thoroughbreds improve to 7-14 and 6-8 in Liberty League play, while the Raptors drop to 0-20, 0-14.
 
Skoric also had one block and a steal. He shot for 85.7% (7-8) from the field. His rebound total included eight offensive boards. Skidmore had four other players in double figures. Ty Lamport scored 14 points, while Riley Greene and Harrison Eichelberger each contributed 13 points. Tautvydas Kupstas added 10 points.
 
Kevin Le led the Raptors with 16 points and six rebounds.
 
The Thoroughbreds commanded the game from the beginning going up 16-4 in the first eight minutes. Skoric scored seven of his points in the first eight minutes. With 4:27 left in the half, a good jumper by Eichelberger started a 12-0 scoring run for the Thoroughbreds. The late scoring run was full of free throw attempts, which were all sunk by Skidmore. At the end of the half the Thoroughbreds maintained a solid 27-point lead, 45-18.
 
Skidmore continued to roll in the second half as a good jumper by Greene and a three pointer by Pat Gallagher extended the lead to 50-18 in the first minute of play. Skoric had a thunderous dunk to give Skidmore one of its largest leads of the game, 63-30, with 10:41 remaining.
 
"Much needed result tonight." said head coach Joe Burke, "I thought we got our legs back and we were locked into the game plan. Happy for Greg, that's a terrific accomplishment in his young career."
 
The Thoroughbreds face more Liberty League action as they face St. Lawrence University at the Williamson Center at 7:30 p.m. February 14.
