DAY 3 RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y.— Records fell on the third day of the Liberty League championships being contested at Ithaca College's Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.
After three days, host Ithaca increased its lead on the women's side with 1003.5 points. The Thoroughbreds remained sixth with 422. Rensselaer is the new men's lead with 1197 points. Skidmore is seventh with 283. The four-day event finishes Saturday.
Two college records were set in prelims Friday morning and lowered again in finals.
In the 200 Fly, both
Miles Herman and
Kinser Bonner swam faster than the previous mark (2:02.71) last set in 2010. Herman swam a 2:00.22 to qualify while Bonner was 2:02.58 in prelims. Herman dropped the mark further to finish 20th with a 2:00.13, while Bonner finished 23rd.
In the 100 breast,
Rachel Olson lowered the college record she had established in December in prelims and both she and
Meredith Wagner qualified for the championship final. Olson finished 4th with an impressive time drop to 1:06.95 while Wagner placed 8th (1:09.97).
Annie McDermott continued to have an impressive meet, finishing 22nd 1:13.31
Elizabeth Levy placed 15th in the 200 Fly, while
Maddie Collins touched in 21st. In the 100 Back,
Lexi Benfante finished 19th (1:03.59) and
Abbi Brown was 21st (1:04.36).
Josh Finkelman-Mahoney swam to 13th in the 100 Breast (1:01.79). A quartet of men swam to the bonus final in the 100 Back with
Nick Meconiates leading the way with his 17th place finish (55.50).
Ethan Hull was 21st (57.94), Cyrus Cheung 22nd (58.22) and
Daryl Kwan 23rd (59.40). All improved on their prelims swims.
The 800 Free Relay
Rachel Olson,

Lizzie Day,
Meredith Wagner finished 9th (8:12.35). The men's team of
Miles Herman,
Ethan Hull,
Brian Borchard,
Daryl Kwan placed 8th (7:28.78).
