GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College won the first of two New England Hockey Conference weekend games with Skidmore College, 4-2 Friday night.

The series moves to Saratoga Springs Saturday with a 7 p.m. start. There will be a food drive to benefit the Wilton Food Pantry. Those donating will receive a Skidmore hockey giveaway while supplies last.

The Thoroughbreds (10-6-4, 6-5-2 NEHC) fall out of a fourth-place tie with the Statesmen (13-4-3, 7-4-2).

Hobart scored three straight first period goals to go up 3-0.
Mike Gelatt got Skidmore on the board with his fourth goal of the season at 17:54 of the first from
Cole Beckstead and
Avery Steele.

Avery Steele cut it to 3-2 in the second with his fifth of the year from Beckstead and
Matthew Monk at 10:59.

The Statesmen got an insurance goal at 5:11 of the third for the 4-2 margin.
