CLINTON, N.Y.—The Skidmore College hockey team returned from winter break with a 2-2 nonleague tie against Hamilton College Friday night at the Clinton Arena.
The Thoroughbreds are 7-2-3 and 4-0-2 over their last six games. The Continentals are 3-5-1. The teams will finish the weekend series in Saratoga Saturday at 7 p.m.
Reid Russell spotted Skidmore a 1-0 lead with his second goal of the season at 13:28 of the first period from
Owen Campbell and
Tim Allen.
Hamilton tied it with a pair of second period goals.
David Poirier tied it with an unassisted goal at 17:30 of the third period. It was his fifth goal of the season.
The Thoroughbreds killed off a penalty in the overtime, with
Brandon Kasel making three saves to preserve the tie.
Kasel finished with 30 saves. Hamilton outshot Skidmore 32-25.
