ALBANY, N.Y.—The Skidmore College volleyball team went 2-0 on the opening night of the Sage Invitational with a pair of 3-0 wins.
The Thoroughbreds are 5-5 after the sweep and will finish tournament play Saturday morning against Oneonta at 10 a.m.
In the first match, Skidmore made quick work of Sage (1-11) 25-19, 25-15, 25-15.
Sophia Hettler and
Frida Anguiano had 13 digs each.
Alex Estey and
Audrey Powell each had three blocks, while
Lauren Wolters had 20 assists.
The Thoroughbreds shook off Elms (4-5) in the night cap 25-15, 25-19, 25-22. Hettler had 14 digs and eight kills
Chelsea Winegar totaled 11 digs and eight kills. Wolters had four aces, 14 assists, and seven digs.
