SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team scored 23 runs on 27 hits to post a Liberty League sweep of Vassar College Saturday afternoon at Castle Diamond.

The teams finish the series with a pair of games at Vassar, scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

The Thoroughbreds have won six straight to move to 13-9 and 4-6 in league play. The Brewers are 11-16 and 5-9.

GAME 1
Gamboa continued to dominate opponents. He went the full seven, allowing three runs on six hits, with no walks and eight strikeouts. Hit teammates provided plenty of offense, including a nine-run third inning.
The Brewers went up 1-0 in the first. Skidmore tied it in the second
William Snyder sacrifice fly. The Thoroughbreds then broke it open in the third, sending 13 players to the plate, scoring nine runs on eight hits, an error and a balk.
Matt Chipkin had an RBI single, then stole second and third to eventually score on a
Ryan Strickland single.
Will Potter had an RBI single and later stole home on a perfect double steal with Chipkin.
Chipkin's running frustrated the Brewers all afternoon with three stolen bases in the first game and four in the second game. He was 7-8 on stolen base attempts, making him 18-19 for the season.
Chipkin finished 3-4 with a run and RBI. Potter was 3-4 with a run, three stolen bases and two RBI. Pat Geiger went 2-4 with two runs, twos double and an RBI. Strickland went 3-4 with two runs and an RBI.
GAME 2
Skidmore got out quick with four runs in the first. Potter and
Jake Hardy had RBI singles. Vassar rebounded with two runs in the second and four in the fourth for a 6-4 lead.
The Thoroughbreds closed the game with one in the fifth after Chipkin singled, stole second and then scored on an
Andrew Knight single. Skidmore retook the lead 7-6 with two in the sixth. Chipkin and a fielders choice RBI and Knight had a two-strike single.
A five-run eighth inning secured the 12-6 win.
William Snyder had a two-run double to key the inning.
Sean Lange was 3-3 with two runs. Potter was 3-5 with a run and RBI and Knight finished 2-2 with two runs, two RBI.
Jacob Berrish (3-2) picked up the win in relief. He tossed 3.2 shutout innings with two hits.
Christian Reenstierna was credited with his fourth save. He went 1.1 innings with one hit, one strikeout, and no walks.
