HENNIKER, N.H.—The Skidmore College hockey team picked up two big New England Hockey Conference points with a 5-3 road win over #15 New England College.
The Thoroughbreds have a five-game unbeaten streak and sit at 7-2-2 overall and 3-1-2 in NEHC play. Skidmore snapped NEC's seven game unbeaten streak and 16-game home unbeaten streak. The Pilgrims are 7-3-1 and 6-2.

David Poirier scored his fourth of the season at 6:58 of the first, just seven seconds into Skidmore's first power play of the afternoon.
Reid Russell and
Nicolas Stuckless assisted. NEC went up 2-1 less than two minutes early, but Stuckless evened the score again at 17:54 from
Nicholas Charron at 17:54 of the first.
The Pilgrims went back in front for a third time on a power-play goal at 6:07 of the second. The Thoroughbreds tied it for a third time when
Callahan Johnson scored his first goal of the year from Charron and
Matthew Monk at 9:26.
Tim Allen tallied a short-handed goal at 9:26 to give Skidmore its first lead of the game at 11:10 from
Kyle DelMaestro at 11:10.
Matthew Rutigliano's insurance goal at 15:09 from DelMaestro and
Cole Beckstead wrapped the scoring with Skidmore in front 5-2.
The Thoroughbreds kept NEC off the board in the third to secure the big road win and three of four weekend league points.
Skidmore outshot NEC 32-26.
Brandon Kasel handled the workload in net again with 23 saves, including 11 in the scoreless third period.
The Thoroughbreds are off for the semester break, returning January 3 with a nonconference game at Hamilton College.
