RESULTS
ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams came out strong on the first day of the RIT Don Richards Invitational.
 
The women are in second place out of seven teams, while the men are in third out of five. The meet concludes on Saturday.
 
The women's 200 free relay team of 
Brooke Edwards, 
Elizabeth Levy, 
Meredith Wagner, 
Olivia Czelusniak were 4th (1:45.64), while the men's team of 
Ian Hinkle, 
Nick Meconiates, Cyrus Cheung, 
Carl Mellqvist was 3rd (1:35.02).
 
Elizabeth Levy and Lizzie Day scored in two events each.  Levy was 6th in the 500 Free (5:31.67) and 11th the in 200 IM (2:19.40), while Day touched 5th in the 500 Free (5:30.40) and 16th in the 50 Free (26.46). 
 
Other women's top finishers were 
Rachel Olson recording a 5th place finish in the 200 IM (2:13.43) and 
Meredith Wagner in 8th in the same event (2:18.57).
 
Adding significant points in the 500 Free were 
Emily Favreau in 11th (5:37.88), 
Lila Campbell in 12th (5:45.35), 
Samantha Horowitz in 13th (5:50.71) and 
Chloe Cummings in 14th (5:54.09). 
Abbi Brown notched a 13th place finish in the 200 IM (2:23.81) and 
Olivia Czelusniak touched in 11th in the 50 Free (26.02).
 
In 1-meter diving, 
Rachel Adamsky finished 6th (341.35), 
Hannah Krall was 8th (312.60) and Gabriel Makower placed 10th (213.40)
 
On the men's side, 
Miles Herman led with 5th place finish in the 500 Free (4:55.82), while 
Kyle Hughson was 13th (5:17.81) and 
Bailey Morganlander 15th (5:22.74). In the 200 IM, Josh Finkelman-Mahoney placed 13th (2:09.67), 
Daryl Kwan 15th (2:12.47), and 
Brian Borchard 15th (2:12.56). 
 
Meconiates added a 15th place finish in the 50 Free (23.31).
 
In the 400 Medley Relay, the women's team of 
Lexi Benfante, Olson, Day, Czelusniak placed 4th (4:15.68), while and the men's team Meconiates, Finkelman-Mahoney, Bonner, Borchard was 5th (3:49.07).
 
"We had a great first session with nearly every swimmer achieving season best times, and a number of athletes recording personal bests," said Skidmore coach 
Jill Greenleaf. "We competed well and look forward to two strong sessions tomorrow."
