GORHAM, Maine -- Michael Green's first goal of the season at 6:46 of the third period gave the University of Southern Maine Huskies a 2-2 overtime tie with the visiting Skidmore College Thoroughbreds in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's action Friday evening at the USM Ice Arena.

The Thoroughbreds, unbeaten in their last four games (3-0-1), move to 6-2-2 overall and 2-1-2 in conference play. The Huskies, 2-1-2 in their last five games, are now 2-6-2 overall mark and 2-4-1 record in NEHC play.

Heading into the third period tied at 1-1, the teams traded goals 22 seconds apart.  Skidmore took a 2-1 advantage at 6:24 when Matt Muzyka scored his sixth goal of the season, a power-play goal, by depositing a rebound of Avery Steel's shot behind USM goalie Anthony D'Aloisio.

It took the Huskies just 22 ticks of the clock to equalize.  Adam Withers forced a turnover in the Skidmore end, but was stopped by Skidmore goalie Brandon Kasel.  Green was the first one to the rebound and flipped it past Kasel.

Tyler Gardiner tied the game just over eight minutes later as he fired home a feed from Johnny Kyte.
