SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team returns to the Williamson Center Friday at 5:30 p.m. for its first Liberty League contest against Williams Smith.
The league home weekend continues on Saturday at 2 p.m. against RIT.
The Thoroughbreds (2-4) are looking to bounce back after a 66-43 loss to #2 Tufts.
Also looking The Herons (3-2) suffered a 85-73 loss to the University of Rochester in its last contest. The Tigers (2-3) are coming off a 61-53 win over St. John Fisher and will play at Vassar on Friday night.
Skidmore features multiple double figure scorers.
Kate McCarney (15.0),
Jessica Centore (11.0), and
Clare Driscoll (10.2) are all averaging double digits.
Toyin Koleoso has been the defensive anchor with 10.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Centore and Driscoll are also leaders in the paint with Centore averaging 4.7 and Driscoll 3.3 boards per game.
William Smith has its own trio of scorers averaging double figures. Olivia Parisi (14.4), Stavriana Dimitrakopoulou (13.4), and Lauren DeVaney (12.2) lead the team in scoring. Lauren DeVaney has also been busy in the paint averaging 9.2 rebounds per game.
RIT is led by double digit scorers Brooke Stanley (15.8 ppg), Alyssa Juergens (13.4), and Sabrina Wolfe (13.2).
The Thoroughbreds will wrap up their four-game home stand this weekend and travel to Vassar on Dec. 11.
