ABOUT SKIDMORE
The Thoroughbreds enter the semifinals with a 12-14 record and finished 9-9 in the Liberty League. Skidmore finished sixth in the conference, two games behind Vassar, but three ahead of seventh-place Clarkson and Ithaca. The Thoroughbreds went on the road and defeated third-seeded RPI, 50-42, in the first round on Tuesday.

The Tigers enter the semifinals with a 19-6 record and finished 16-2 in the Liberty League. RIT tied Union atop the standings, but the Garnet Chargers owned the tiebreaker for the top seed. They were both four games in front of third-place RPI. RIT had a first-round bye and enters the playoffs on a league best 12-game winning streak.

HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
Skidmore and RIT have met only once in the playoffs: a 2018 championship win for Skidmore in Saratoga Springs. RIT won both meetings in the 2025-26 season: 58-49 this past Saturday, and 47-46 on a last-second bucket in Saratoga Springs on Dec. 5. Skidmore is seeking its fourth conference title, most recently in 2023. RIT has one Liberty League championship (2017) and three runner-up finishes. Skidmore is the only remaining team (Vassar, Ithaca) that has won a championship since RIT's nine years ago.
 
NEXT
Friday's semifinal winner will take on the winner of the Union vs. St. Lawrence semifinal on Sunday. Skidmore, as the No. 6 seed, would be the visitor against either opponent.
