SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Sophomore
Mike Gelatt scored two goals and had two assists to lead the Skidmore College hockey team to a 6-2 Senior Day win over Johnson & Wales University Saturday at the Saratoga Springs City Rink.

The Thoroughbreds remain unbeaten at 3-0 overall and 2-0 in New England Hockey Conference play. The Wildcats are 0-3 and 0-2.

Gelatt collected a rebound off an
Avery Steele shot and solved J&W goalie Mike Rockwell for a power-play goal at 7:57 of the first.
Cole Beckstead had the second assist.

David Poirer made it 2-0 from Ausin Rook and Gelatt at 1:45 of the second. Gelatt quickly made it 3-0 less than a minute later with second of the game from
Avery Steele and
Tyler Hall.

The Wildcats got on the board with a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 7:39 when Craig Hessenius scored his first of the season from Connor Bechtel. Rook got it back for the Thoroughbreds at 18:27 from Poirier to end the period with a 4-1 lead.

Matt Muzyka extended the margin to 5-1 from
Matthew Monk and
Tim Allen at 7:40 of the third. Graham Day cut it back to 5-2 for Johnson & Wales at 8:40.

Senior
Jason Lem provided the game's top Senior Day highlight with his first career goal at 19:11 from Gelatt and Rook.

Skidmore won the shot battle 44-24 and went 1-5 on the power play.

Brandon Kasel had 22 saves to improve to 3-0. Rockwell finished with 38 saves for the Wildcats.

The Thoroughbreds host Castleton University on Friday for Pack The Rink night at 7 p.m.
