SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.-- Both the Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Liberty League rival Vassar College.
The Brewers outmatched the Thoroughbreds in early season speed, but there were strong performances from both teams.
Freshman Rachel Olson won two events, the 100 Breast (1:10.66) and 200 Breast (2:32.85) and added a second place finish in the 200 IM (2:18.88). Senior diver Rachel Adamsky won both 1 meter (209.93) and 3 meter (191.03) diving events, while Hannah Krall finished second in each event (1M: 171.78, 3M 166.80).
On the men's side, senior Kinser Bonner won the 200 Fly (2:07.57) and touched second in the 100 Fly (57.14).
Other notable swims included Emily Favreau and Elizabeth Levy who had strong early season swims in the 1000 Free to finish 2-3. Levy was also placed second in the 200 Fly (2:26.97). Freshmen Lizzie Day and Miles Herman both swam well to finish in second place in the 200 Free (Day 2:07.32, Herman 1:53.66). Herman also touched second in the 200 IM (2:10.41) and third in the 500 Free (5:03.32). Nick Meconiates placed second in 100 Back (1:00.19), while Josh Finkelman-Mahoney was second in both the 100 Breast (1:05.19) and 200 Breast (2:19.86).
Next up for the Thoroughbreds is a Nov. 9 meet at Union College.
