SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—It wasn't easy, but the Skidmore College volleyball team prevailed in a 3-2 (25-17, 22-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-6) Liberty League win over Union College Wednesday night at the Williamson Athletic Center.

The win pushes the Thoroughbreds to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in Liberty League play. The Dutchwomen are 7-8 and 0-3.

The teams alternated set wins with Skidmore taking control of the fifth set early, going up 8-4 and then polishing the win off with a 7-2 run to take the deciding set 15-6.

Chelsea Winegar had three kills in the final 7-2 run to cap the win. She finished with 11 kills and five digs.

Sophia Hettler had a team-high 16 kills to go along with 16 digs.
Katy Ehnstrom had 15 kills and three blocks, while
Lauren Wolters had 50 assists, two aces and 11 digs.
Frida Anguiano added 24 digs and
Elizabeth Miller had 15 digs and three aces.

Skidmore will take a break from Liberty League play to host the Skidmore Invitational Oct. 4-5. The Thoroughbreds face Lasell on Friday at 7 p.m. to open the tournament.
