GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College salvaged a series split with a 9-0 win over Skidmore College in a rescheduled New England Hockey Conference contest Monday night.
The Thoroughbreds won the first game 3-2 Friday night in Saratoga.
Skidmore is 10-7-2 overall and 6-4-2 in the NEHC. The Statesmen improve to 13-6 and 7-5. The teams are tied for fifth with 14 points each. Each team has six regular season games remaining.
Hobart poured 57 shots on goal, scoring three goals in each period. Â The Statesmen went 3-8 on the power play, while the Thoroughbreds were 0-4.
Brandon Kasel had 30 saves over the first 34:10 for Skidmore, while
Brian Kowalski stopped 18 shots over the final 25:50.
The Thoroughbreds will regroup and hit the road for a pair or NEHC games this weekend, starting with a 7 p.m. game on Friday at Southern Maine and a 4 p.m. game at New England College on Saturday.
